Our Lay Dominican fraternity is part of the Central Province family, united in prayer, study, community, and apostolic mission. We are dedicated to living out the Dominican charism in our daily lives as lay men and women of faith. Further information about our fraternity’s location, members, and ministries will be added soon.
Thank you for your patience and prayers as we continue to build this page—please check back for updates!
In 1999, the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist (DSMME) established their Motherhouse in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Their witness of the Dominican charism attracted lay men and women as well, and soon the Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati Fraternity was formed with the support of Perpetual Professed members from Blessed Sacrament Fraternity in Farmington Hills. The first group of new Lay Dominicans made their Perpetual Profession in 2017, and the Ann Arbor fraternity is now one of the largest in the Central Province. Since the canonization of our patron on September 7, 2025, our name has officially changed to St. Pier Giorgio Frassati Fraternity.
The Dominican Sisters of Mary continue to provide us with a Religious Assistant as well as meeting space at one of their schools, and part of our apostolate includes supporting their vocation discernment retreats. Several of our members work for the DSMME in various capacities, and others serve or have served in provincial governance and on provincial committees.
