Our Lay Dominican fraternity is part of the Central Province family, united in prayer, study, community, and apostolic mission. We are dedicated to living out the Dominican charism in our daily lives as lay men and women of faith. Further information about our fraternity’s location, members, and ministries will be added soon.

The fraternity of St. Albert the Great was established in 2020 by three newly-Perpetually Professed Lay Dominicans who were committed to spreading our way of life to the communities of northern New Mexico. We were formed with the support of the La Señora de las Montañas fraternity in Albuquerque. Our patron, St. Albert the Great, reflects the environment of the scientific community in Los Alamos and the profession of several members.
Our fraternity is based at Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Catholic Church in Los Alamos, where we hold fraternity meetings and formation meetings.
Those who are seeking deepening knowledge and spiritual growth in community and apostolic action are invited to come and discern if God is calling them to exercise their particular charism as a Lay Dominican in northern New Mexico.
Apostolates

We initiated the 2023 revival of, and continue organization for, the annual IHM parish Eucharistic procession for the feast of Corpus Christi.
We promote devotion to the rosary through a monthly potluck dinner, community rosary, hymns, and discussion of a Marian feast or rosary study topic.
We sponsor an annual community talk at the IHM parish and hold a fraternity retreat, both presented by our religious assistant, Fr. Donald Goergen, OP.

Meetings
Our first Saturday monthly fraternity meetings begin with 9:00 am Mass, followed by Morning Prayer, social time, study topic discussion, and individual formation sessions. All are welcome to join a meeting and observe! We meet in the church for Mass, then the parish hall, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3700 Canyon Rd., Los Alamos, New Mexico. Most members participate in person but Zoom is also available.
Our fraternity prays Morning Prayer on Zoom Tuesdays at 6:30 a.m. MT and Thursdays at 8:00 a.m. MT. All are welcome to pray with us. Contact us for the Zoom link.
